General Functions:

This position provides assistance to the Quality Assurance Manager for Recovery Services (RS) Department by completing RSCMS chart audits, review of weekly clinical services, validating the quality of service delivered, appropriate of service delivered, delivery of specific curriculum and evidenced based practices, implementation of specific protocol are adhered too and weekly quality assurance reports; as needed, to ensuring departmental needs encompasses the set goals and expectations for services.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Quality Assurance Manger in obtaining and adhering to National and State accreditations and licensing bodies.
  • Audit RS Clinical group schedules for adherence to program structure, therapeutic communities and system of care.
  • Audit documentation within the Recovery Services Case Management System (RSCMS) to assure outlined curriculum and evidenced based practices are followed and conducted as model outlines.  
  • Assist in developing and outlining group topics and identifying evidence based practices that can be used within the group structure. 
  • Support Clinical Supervisors on identifying documentation errors, approval of progress notes, approval of treatment plans and review of charts for closure.
  • Assures adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Work with Quality Assurance Manager on reviewing and revising treatment policies and procedures as needed to meet program goals, standards and accreditations.
  • Provide quality assurance audits for electronic health record in partnership with Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Train and provide guidance in clinical documentation with the Recovery Services Case Management System (RSCMS) to clinical staff.
  • Provide assistance in developing a working user manual for the Recovery Services Case Management System (RSCMS).
  • Complete Recovery Services weekly spreadsheets and reports as assigned.
  • Train and provide guidance to supervisors; as needed, regarding clinical documentation policies and procedures.
  • Provide clear comprehensive support through email, telephone contacts and webcasted telecommunication (Skype, Zoom, etc..)
  • Conduct annual evaluations of services as assigned by QA Manager.
  • Adhere to monthly chart reviews and Continuous Quality Management procedures (CQM).
  • Maintain confidentiality according to regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Perform all related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:     

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences such as social work, counseling or psychology.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience providing chart reviews in a clinical substance use setting.
  • Ability to work offsite, including computer and internet access.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in an electronic case management system.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing evidence based practices in a clinical substance use setting.
  • Must have at least Level I Chemical Dependency Counselor certification. 
  • Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory report from a state and federal background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Alaska Native people, knowledge of their values and belief systems and ability to provide culturally competent services.
