    General Functions:

    The DV/SA/HT Case Manager provides advocacy and pro se services to Alaska Native Justice Center (ANJC) clients.  The DV/SA/HT Case Manager supports and provides assistance to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all clients, but especially Alaska Natives and American Indians, in the judicial system. The incumbent’s duties include providing advocacy services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and human trafficking and to non-offending family members whose child may experience sexual assault.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct assistance to clients in many aspects of the legal system.
    • Work closely with staff and community partners to develop, maintain and report goals, and to collect data from community partners.
    • Provide advocacy services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking.
    • Coordinate with community providers to secure services for participants/victims, including but not limited to, resources for housing, employment, food, clothing, health care, behavioral health, and substance use treatment.
    • Develop and assists with technical and educational support to clients that includes but not limited to court filings and research both in the court and through the internet.
    • Assist DV/SA/HT Project Coordinator with technical assistance and training.
    • Coordinate and assists with ANJC Family Law/Outreach Clinics.
    • Assist in facilitating the Human Trafficking community partner meetings, to include scheduling the meetings, creating agendas, recording minutes/logistics, and follow up.
    • Coordinate the DV/SA/HT events in the communities pre-selected; work with community partners on logistics and event planning. Coordinate and assists with ANJC Family Law/Outreach Clinics.
    • Create and prepare business memos, and presentation materials, for training purposes.
    • Write and distribute confidential correspondence.
    • Meet with the public, provide general information, records, court accompaniment and work effectively with a variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise.
    • Partner with appropriate individuals to assist in the writing of program narrative reports as scheduled.
    • Develop and maintain external relationships within local community providers.
    • Attend job fairs and community outreach events to promote awareness of ANJC.
    • Obtain, track and document all pertinent information in each case file and/or electronically utilizing the databases.
    • Coordinate with leadership team to monitor grant required information and strategic planning processes.
    • Participate in scheduled community meetings and webinars as requested.
    • Assist in the facilitation of group activities or workshops.
    • Attend and actively participate in department meeting and trainings.
    • Fill in for absent staff when necessary.
    • Maintain confidentiality according to regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Perform all related duties as assigned.

    • Local, state, national and rural Alaska village travel is required for this position.

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelors’ degree in Human Service, Counseling, Social Work, or Vocational Education and/or a related field.  Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
    • Minimum three years’ experience in social services, workforce development or vocational counseling/education.
    • Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence/sexual assault, interpersonal violence an Human Trafficking.
    • Knowledge of Alaska Native and American Indian culture and/or community resources.
    • Valid Alaska driver’s license and insurable under CITC’s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age;  have reliable transportation and be willing/able to travel.
    • Continued employment is contingent upon a report from a state and federal background check.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Previous experience in case management preferred, with preference given to those with knowledge related to domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking victims.
